China’s ZTE offers advanced technologies for railway sector
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- China’s ZTE Corporation held an international workshop on advanced railway signaling and telecommunication technologies in Tashkent.

Representatives of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari (Uzbekistan Railways), heads and specialists on railway from Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia and other countries participated at the event.

Railway takes special place in transport system of Uzbekistan as major part of cargo turnover fell to its share. Uzbekistan pays great attention to development of railway system with use of modern technologies. One of such projects is modernization and reorganization of telecommunication and signaling system of Tashkent-Angren railroad.

Yan Jun (transliterated), ZTE Vice President, technical director on governmental and corporate networks services of the Asian-Pacific and CIS regions, said that Uzbekistan Temir Yollari is a strategic partner of ZTE. He said that the corporation is always ready for construction of high effective, high-speed railway networks with use of advanced and effective telecommunication technologies.

Railway signaling system at Tashkent-Angren railway was constructed at assistance of ZTE and it works without disruptions. The launch of the system helped to increase railway capacity by 50%, which helped to develop industry in Angren zone and development of Uzbekistan as international logistic center in Central Asia.

It is worth to mention that within the project some 119 km and nine stations were modernized. The signaling system includes computer blocking system and modern railway telecommunication.
