China’s Xianfeng to Launch Footwear Production in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Against the backdrop of strengthening economic ties between Uzbekistan and China, official negotiations were held in Tashkent with representatives of two leading Chinese companies — Hong Kong Ming Feng Leather International Ltd and Dongguan Xianfeng Shoe Materials Co., Ltd.

The meeting, attended by Deputy Chairman of the Uzcharmsanoat Association Murodzhon Zakhidov, focused on expanding cooperation in the leather and footwear industry.

Ming Feng Leather International Ltd, which produces more than 2 million pairs of shoes annually, expressed interest in purchasing finished leather products manufactured in Uzbekistan.

According to company representatives, the high quality of Uzbek leather presents promising opportunities for integration into products for international brands. Plans are underway to establish a sustainable export channel, which would provide additional momentum for the domestic leather sector and strengthen Uzbekistan’s presence in global markets.

Meanwhile, Dongguan Xianfeng Shoe Materials Co., Ltd announced its intention to invest in the establishment of a production facility within one of Uzbekistan’s specialized leather and footwear industrial zones.

The new project aims to manufacture finished footwear and leather goods for both domestic consumption and export.

The initiative includes localization of all key production stages, which will contribute to job creation, deeper processing of local raw materials, and the transfer of modern manufacturing technologies.

This cooperation with major Chinese investors marks a significant step in the development of Uzbekistan’s footwear industry, boosting its export potential and creating new opportunities for technological advancement.
