The tender was announced in early 2010. The main goal is to increase production capacities of the enterprise, director of Tashkent enterprise Zoir Khodjaev said. Total cost of the contract is US$3.099 million. Currently, the sides are preparing to sign contract.

Toshkent Qogozi LLC was founded on the base of bankrupt enterprise Uzbek Qogozi LLC. In line with the decision of the government, the plant was handed over to balance of National Bank of Uzbekistan for Foreign Economic Activity and the bank had to keep the enterprises speciality. The plant rehabilitated its production in July 2010.

According to NBU Investment, over 2,128 billion soums were invested to modernization of the capacities of Toshkent Qogozi, of which 2.038 billion soums were directed in 2010. Some 833.4 million soums were directed to purchase equipment and 1.246 billion soums to increase turnover capital. In 2010, Toshkent Qogozi produced goods for 2.362 billion soums. In past period of 2011, the company’s output made up 663.7 million soums.

In 2011, NBU Investment is planning additionally invest 3.83 billion soums to modernization of Toshkent Qogozi. According to preliminary calculations, the production volume will make up 11.065 billion soums. In 2011, it is planned to produce 17,400 tonnes of various papers. The designed capacity of the plant makes up 20,000 tonnes of papers a year. Currently, three paper making equipment operate in Uzbekistan and it is planned to launch four more by the first half of 2011.

Currently, Toshkent Qogozi will produce fibrous plates, school and educational notebooks, cardboard, corrugated cardboard and wrapping paper. The capacity of the plant on production of building paper makes up 3,000 tonnes a year.

The capacity of the shop on production of wrapping paper and paper for production of corrugated boxes is 2,000 tonnes a year. Third line is directed at production of notebooks, fibrous plates and corrugated cardboard. Total area of Toshkent Qogozi is 14.2 hectares, of which 4.8 hectares are production area.
