Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- China is investing US$1 billion in Andijan region of Uzbekistan. As part of this project, an enterprise will be created to process the skins and internal organs of domestic animals.

A delegation of Uzbekistan led by the khokim of Andijan region visited China. During the visit, representatives of Uzbekistan got acquainted with the activities of Kaifeng Shengmeishun Leather Products in the city of Kaifeng, Henan Province.

The khokim of Andijan region and the chairman of the Veterinary Committee of Uzbekistan held negotiations with representatives of the public and private sector of China regarding the investment project.

Issues of establishing contacts with leading Chinese institutions in the fields of veterinary medicine, livestock farming, poultry farming and fishing, as well as cooperation in the field of scientific research and training of Uzbek specialists were discussed.

Following the meeting, it was announced that the Chinese side fully supports planned investment projects and scientific research in Uzbekistan.

The new project, worth US$1 billion, will be implemented in the Andijan region through direct investment. Already this year it is planned to invest US$100 million and create 3 thousand jobs.
