The main foreign trading partners among the CIS member states in 2008 were Russia, trade with which made up 20.2% of the total foreign trade with the CIS countries; Ukraine 8.4%; and Kazakhstan 4.8%.
Uzbekistan’s foreign trade increased by 21.4% year-on-year in 2008 to US$$19.08 billion.
Exports totaled US$11.57 billion, rising 28.7% year-on-year in 2008, while imports stood at US$7.5 billion, registering an 11.5% increase compared to the previous year.
Uzbekistan’s foreign trade surplus stood at US$4.07 billion in 2008, including US$807.1 million with the Commonwealth of Independent States and US$3.26 billion with other countries.
