China ready to deepen cooperation with Uzbekistan in energy sector – Ambassador

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Cooperation in new energy is a key aspect of mutually beneficial collaboration between China and Uzbekistan. This was stated by the Chinese Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Yu Jun.

He emphasized that the Uzbek side places great importance on transitioning to a low-carbon economy in the construction of a New Uzbekistan, aiming to increase the share of renewable energy to 40% by 2030.

The ambassador noted that currently, cooperation in the field of new energy is an important element of the partnership between China and Uzbekistan. He also recalled that thanks to the active involvement of Chinese capital, technologies, and enterprises, numerous projects in photovoltaic, wind, and hydro energy have been implemented in Uzbekistan, as well as a new production line for electric vehicles.

The head of the diplomatic mission expressed China’s readiness to deepen cooperation with Uzbekistan in new areas related to energy transformation and to promote industrial development and localization of production.

He emphasized the desire to transform the "supply chain" into a "mutual benefit chain," which will bring more advantages to the peoples of both countries.

China is actively promoting energy transformation and has already become the largest renewable energy market in the world. For many years, China has held leading positions in installed capacity for wind and solar energy, the ambassador noted.
