Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- China has launched a new rail route to Uzbekistan. This was reported by the Xinhua news agency.
China Railway Beijing Group sent a freight train from Zhangjiaku city in Hebei province to the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, on August 29.
A train consisting of 14 container platforms is moving along the route, carrying a batch of auto parts, household appliances and textiles.
The train route runs through the dry port of Khorgos, located on the border with Kazakhstan. It is expected that it will reach the capital of Uzbekistan in about 15 days.
This is an important event in the development of cargo transportation in the region, and based on the railway and road infrastructures in Zhangjiaku, a new multimodal logistics hub is planned to be created.
