Total cost of the project makes up US$101.3 million and it will be financed due to loan of Chinese Eximbank for US$89.5 million and own sources of the Uzbek side – US$11.8 million.
The paper said that the project envisages supply of two mechanized complexes to Baisun and Shargun coal mines with the capacity of 450,000 tonnes a year on turn-key bases.
After modernization of coal mining, Uzbekistan will produce 900,000 tonnes of coal in 2020 against 20,000 tonnes expected in 2013.
Overall, Uzbekistan is planning to modernize coal industry and increase coal production from 3.85 million tonnes in 2012 to 17.2 million tonnes by 2021.
