Chess Olympiad: Uzbek men’s team claims 17th place, women’s team – 35th

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The 41st World Chess Olympiad ended in Tromso, Norway. Uzbekistan was represented by men’s and women’s teams.

Uzbekistan men’s team finished on the 17th place among 172 countries. Uzbekistan collected 15 points.

During tournament, Uzbekistan defeated Cyprus, Denmark, Brazil, Ukraine, Australia, Finland, and Netherlands. The team played a draw with Germany and lost to Russia, USA and India.

Women’s team of Uzbekistan collected 13 points and was on 35th place among 136 countries, which participated in the tournament.

Uzbekistan outplayed Honduras, Brazil, Wales, Bolivia and Cuba, shared points with Latvia, Scotland and Turkey. At the same time, Uzbekistan lost to Serbia, Spain and Czech Republic.
