Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Among our partner countries, Uzbekistan is in the top ten in terms of trade turnover, Minister of Economy Alexander Chervyakov said during a plenary session of the first Belarusian-Uzbek women’s business forum on the theme "Women in business - potential for development business cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan”, BelTA has learned.

“Among the partner countries of the Republic of Belarus, Uzbekistan is in the top ten in terms of trade volume - more than US$500 million (in 2022.) and ranks seventh in the country’s exports. The basis of Belarusian exports to Uzbekistan is meat and dairy products, wood products, pharmaceutical products, tractors, truck tractors, and so on. At the same time, imports of goods from Uzbekistan are more diversified. In 2022, it was based on light industry products, vegetables, fruits, copper wire, pipes, and so on,” said Alexander Chervyakov.

In Belarus today, 84 organizations with Uzbek capital have been established in the field of production of special vehicles, tractors, and footwear. “More than 100 enterprises are registered in Uzbekistan, the founders of which are residents of the Republic of Belarus. A representative office of companies in the field of international transportation, software development, production of medicines and veterinary preparations has been opened. In 2022, a joint venture for the production of dairy products was opened in Tashkent. The range of goods is wide, and we should work further, create new production facilities and expand the range of mutual trade,” the minister said.
