Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Today, in Tashkent, EU Ambassador to Uzbekistan Charlotte Adrian met with Dr. Nigina Abaszade, UNFPA Resident Representative in Uzbekistan.
Issues of demography, gender equality and women's empowerment, and social protection were discussed at the meeting.
“I hope for our cooperation in promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment to achieve a transformational effect,” noted the EU Ambassador.
The European Union has established relations with Uzbekistan since the country gained independence in 1991. The EU provides financial assistance to Uzbekistan primarily to promote economic development, good governance, digital transformation, digital and green growth, development of sustainable agriculture and the food sector.
