Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a law making amendments and additions to several legislative acts.
These changes clarify the designations and powers of various government agencies, including:
- The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations
- The Ministry of Preschool and School Education
- The Ministry of Sports
- The Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction
- The Fund for Financing Science and Supporting Innovations
Additionally, amendments to the "Education" law have introduced a new system for external evaluation of educational institutions, both public and private, involved in secondary-specialized, vocational, higher, and postgraduate education, as well as professional development and retraining.
The law also specifies that the licensing of non-state educational institutions will be shared between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations and the Ministry of Preschool and School Education.
The law will come into effect upon its official publication.
