Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a media dialogue for journalists and bloggers on the topic "Changes in Credit Information Exchange: Current Status and Expected Innovations."
During the event, insights were shared on the current management of credit information for individuals and legal entities, as well as planned amendments to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Credit Information Exchange."
These new provisions aim to further improve credit relations and enhance borrower data protection.
The discussion featured key officials from the Central Bank and executives from credit bureaus Kredit-axborot tahliliy markazi LLC and CRIF Kredit axborot xizmatlari LLC.
One of the most significant changes is the introduction of a right allowing individuals to prohibit the issuance of a credit agreement without their knowledge or consent. To exercise this right, citizens must submit a formal request to a credit bureau. Once received, the information regarding the prohibition or its cancellation is immediately recorded in the registry.
Additionally, participants of the media dialogue were given a detailed overview of the latest advancements in credit information analysis.
Experts addressed pressing questions regarding factors affecting credit history, ways to improve it, and mechanisms for protecting individuals against online fraud. Particular attention was given to the Freeze service, which prevents unauthorized loan applications under a citizen’s name.
These innovations aim to increase transparency in the credit system and strengthen borrower data protection, ultimately fostering greater trust in financial institutions.
