Champions Bunyodkor held in city derby
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Bunyodkor Tashkent, who were crowned Uzbekistan Oliy Liga champions earlier this week, signed off their successful 2010 campaign with a goalless draw with city rivals Pakhtakor at Pakhtakor Stadium today.

The visitors had wrapped up the league title in their previous game - a 2-1 defeat of Metallurg - while Pakhtakor had also cemented second place. Despite the fact that there was nothing at stake, the game had all the hallmarks of a derby clash.

The hosts dominated the first half with both Aleksandr Geynrikh and Odil Ahmedov having chances to open the scoring. Bunyodkor, meanwhile, were camped firmly in their own half and only ventured beyond the half way line on one occasion in the first 30 minutes.

They came out stronger in the second half, however, as Viktor Karpenko drove a free-kick straight at Pakhtakor keeper Temur Juraev in the 64th minute. But after that chances again dried up and the game petered out to finish honours even at the final whistle. Bunyodkor finish the season with just one defeat from 26 games and with 65 points, eight ahead of Pakhtakor.

"The championship is over but may such games as these last a long time," said Bunyodkor coach Mirjalol Qosimov. "We shall now look to improve our weak points before next season."

Elsewhere, third-placed Nasaf lost 1-0 to Shurtan with Victor Klishin scoring the game's only goal in the 50th minute while goals from Arsen Tyulenev and Nodyr Davlatov gave Mash'al a 2-0 win over Nawbahor.

Alisher Halikov scored a brace as Neftchi edged Locomotive 2-1. Nikolay Guryanov grabbed a late consolation for the visitors. Olim Taylakov cancelled out Zafar Palvanov's early goal as Dinamo drew 1-1 with Khorezm while the game between Metallurg and Qyzylqum ended goalless. Finally, two goals in three minutes from Arturas Fomenka and Nosir Otakuziev were enough to give Almalyk a 2-1 win at home to Andijan. Ibrahim Atahanov got the visitors' goal in the 68th minute.
