Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During her visit to Ankara, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbaeva, held a meeting with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Numan Kurtulmuş.

The meeting highlighted that, thanks to the strong political will and friendly relations between the leaders of the two countries, Uzbek-Turkish relations have reached the level of comprehensive strategic partnership.

The growing role of parliaments in enhancing interstate cooperation was emphasized. Special attention was given to the importance of parliamentary oversight in implementing the highest agreements, as well as the need to strengthen cooperation between relevant committees and friendship groups.

The discussion also covered the need to expand cultural and humanitarian ties, particularly in the fields of education and tourism, as well as the exchange of experiences between youth and regions. The conversation touched upon deepening collaboration between the parliaments of Turkic-speaking countries and within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a Protocol of Cooperation between the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye was signed. This document aims to develop inter-parliamentary cooperation, improve interaction in legislative activities between the two countries, and strengthen collaboration in key areas such as politics, economy, culture, education, youth, and sports. This is also a significant diplomatic step contributing to the stability and development of the entire region.

On the same day, the delegation visited the parliamentary library, where books and publications about the history, culture, and modern development of Uzbekistan were presented.

Chairperson Tanzila Narbaeva signed the Guest Book of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, underscoring the importance of strengthening bilateral inter-parliamentary relations.
