Chairperson of the Senate meets with the President of the International Foundation for Turkic Culture and Heritage

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 April, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva received the President of the International Fund for Turkic Culture and Heritage Gunay Efendiyeva, who arrived in our country to participate in the cultural event "Days of the city of Shusha in Uzbekistan".

At the meeting, the sides focused on issues of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the structures of the Organization of Turkic States, including the further development of relations in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.

Thus, the Chairperson of the Senate stressed that the cultural and humanitarian sphere is undoubtedly an important area of interstate relations, and she highly appreciates the activities of the International Fund for Turkic Culture and Heritage, aimed at preserving, restoring and popularizing the culture and heritage of the Turkic peoples. It was noted that Uzbekistan is developing constant cooperation with the Organization of Turkic States and its specialized institutions.

In turn, President of the International Foundation for Turkic Culture and Heritage Gunay Efendiyeva expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and stressed that the Azerbaijani-Uzbek relations have risen to a higher level than before. Ms. Gunay also highly appreciated the initiatives put forward by Uzbekistan within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States.

During the dialogue, it was emphasized that almost 40 events, including cultural and humanitarian ones, are planned to be held within the framework of the chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the Organization of Turkic States this year. Attention was paid to the Fund’s participation in the implementation of joint initiatives and projects.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the further expansion of cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries, the continuation of mutually beneficial cooperation.
