Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  The Chairperson of the Senate of Uzbekistan’s Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbaeva, who is on a visit to St. Petersburg, held meetings with the Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matviyenko, and the Chairperson of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Maulen Ashimbayev.

During the meetings, Valentina Matviyenko and Maulen Ashimbayev congratulated Tanzila Narbaeva on her election as the Chairperson of the Senate and wished her success in her future endeavors.

The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations between the parliaments of Uzbekistan, implementing agreements reached at the highest levels, and fostering effective cooperation between regional representative bodies.

The key topics also included the agenda of the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS countries and the development of interparliamentary relations.
