Chairperson of the Senate criticized faulty elevators and escalators in elevated pedestrian crossings in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva criticized faulty elevators and escalators in elevated pedestrian crossings in Tashkent, emphasizing that this creates inconvenience for people and poses a threat to their lives.

She also mentioned that videos on the issue are being circulated on social media, reflecting the difficulties faced by older people, young children and people with disabilities when crossing overpasses.

The head of the Senate, Tanzila Narbayeva, noted that the elevators on Mukimi and Abdulla Kadiri streets are not functioning, and the two bridges at the intersection of Mukimi and Lutfi streets, as well as the bridge on Shota Rustaveli Street, do not have elevators or escalators. She emphasized that the installation of this equipment was provided for by the project.

Tanzila Narbaeva appealed to the government, the Inspectorate for Control of Mining, Geological and Industrial Safety, as well as the Senate Committee on Defense and Security with a request to take control of this issue and provide proposals with solutions within 10 days.
