Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairperson of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Davron Vakhabov participated in an extraordinary meeting of the General Assembly of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkic States, which was held online.

The main topic of discussion was the accession of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan to the Union as a full member.

The event was attended by representatives of the Organization of Turkic States, the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Turkic States, the President of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Türkiye, the National Confederation of Entrepreneurship (Employers) of Azerbaijan, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.

Based on the results of the meeting, all members of the Union unanimously approved the entry of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan into the organization.

The meeting participants also highly appreciated the prospects and potential for expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation between member states and observers of the organization.

In 2023, the total trade volume of Uzbekistan with the member countries of this organization amounted to US$9.7 billion. Trade turnover with Azerbaijan reached about US$232 million, with Kazakhstan - US$4.4 billion, with Kyrgyzstan - almost US$1 billion, with Türkiye - more than US$3 billion, with Turkmenistan - more than US$1 billion and with Hungary - almost US$100 million.
