Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva, during a plenary session of the first Belarusian-Uzbek women’s business forum on the topic "Women in business - the potential for developing business cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan", spoke about the areas in which Uzbekistan is interested in stepping up cooperation with Belarus, BelTA has learned. The organizer of the forum is the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.

“We see the demand for strengthening cooperation and implementing new joint measures in the following areas. The first is the expansion of partnership in the field of light industry, the exchange of advanced technologies in the textile, clothing and knitwear industry, the expansion of cooperation between manufacturers of fabrics, clothing, footwear, fur and leather products. We had a conversation about this with the President of Belarus, who also supports the issues of cooperation between producers of Belarus and Uzbekistan in these industries, - said Tanzila Narbayeva. - The second direction is the development of ties in the IT field, the joint development of digital products for entrepreneurship, especially women’s entrepreneurship. Attracting women and girls to the digital economy, sharing experience in improving literacy and women’s skills in this area. Also, the joint implementation of measures within the framework of the IT club for women of Uzbekistan.”

According to her, initiatives in this direction are already being implemented. “The experience of Belarus in this direction will be very useful for us,” the speaker noted. - The third direction is the strengthening of cooperation in the field of medicine and education. The priority areas of cooperation could be the industrial production of medicines, transplantology, the creation of medical clusters of institutions and branches of leading universities, including medical ones. The fourth direction - we are counting on the introduction of new mechanisms of interaction for the development of agriculture, the food industry, advanced training of Uzbek specialists in the agricultural sector at Belarusian enterprises and higher educational institutions.

At the invitation of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, a parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva is paying an official visit to the country.
