Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 28 October 2024, the Chair of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbaeva, held a meeting with a delegation from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) led by Secretary-General Sergey Lebedev.
During the meeting, the parties discussed cooperation between Uzbekistan and the CIS, highlighting the transparency and fairness of the parliamentary elections held in Uzbekistan, which were conducted in full accordance with democratic principles. They noted the significant positive changes and reforms in legislation that have taken place in Uzbekistan in recent years, as well as Uzbekistan’s active participation in CIS initiatives and its dialogue with member states.
The discussion also covered further development of cooperation in economic, cultural, and humanitarian fields.
This meeting reaffirmed Uzbekistan’s commitment to developing relations with the CIS and strengthening cooperation at all levels.
