After the duel was canceled on 30 May in Helsinki, where Chagaev had to fight with Nickolay Valuev, the WBA decided he is a current world champion. Sportsman from Uzbekistan was called a champion “on the leave” that might be revised later.

Cohl’s application may be approved by the WBA. According to the rules, two world champions in similar weight category may exist.

Ruslan Chagaev and Wladimir Klitschko will hold the duel on 20 June at the football scene seating 60,000 audience in Gelsenkirchen.

Earlier the World Boxing Organization unauthorized the fight between Ruslan Chagaev and Wladimir Klitschko as a title duel of the WBA. According to the letter of WBA lawyer, neither Chagaev, nor Klitschko aaplied to the association with that request. Thus Klitschko and Chagaev will struggle only for Ukrainian’s belt of WBO and IBF versions on 20 June.
