Uzbekistan adopted GMP rules as national document TSt 19-01:2003. In line with international practices, foreign certification bodies do not conduct GMP certification as the governments are responsible for quality of medical products.

CERT International was accredited as local body on GMP certification in Uzbekistan by UzStandard Agency. CERT International held the first GMP certification in the end of 2012 and handed over GMP certificate to NIKA FARM.

CERT International said that the certificate will allow NIKA FARM to simplify registration process of medicaments at exports and decrease inspection of foreign consumers and state bodies.

CERT International added that currently Uzbekistan is working on introduction of new standards to pharmaceutical industry such as GDP, GLP GSP and GCP. New standards were developed and UzStandard Agency should register them soon.
