Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program published The Global Go To Think Tanks Report 2011, which made up lists of the best think tanks of the world.

According to the report, the CER claimed the 25th place among the 30th best think tanks of Asia and the first place in the Central Asia.

Center for Economic Research (CER) is an independent non-profit research institution established in April 1999 jointly by the Government of Uzbekistan and the United Nations Development Program.

The Center provides policy advice to the Government and conducts research for other development institutions on a broad range of socio-economic development issues.

The Center contributes to the national capacity building and raising public awareness on key issues of development and reforms.

Over the years of its activity CER has become the leading think tank in Uzbekistan and accumulated considerable and, to certain extent, unique capacities in the field of socio-economic policy advising.

To date CER has prepared more than 150 policy papers and briefs on most challenging issues including, but not limited to macroeconomic, monetary, fiscal, social, industrial, agricultural policy, knowledge based economy, ICT4D, etc
