According to the document, Centres for Innovative Ideas will be established in Uzbekistan on the terms of public-private partnership.
The centres will be established in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent. They will carry out development, approbation and introduction of innovative start-up projects, transfer and commercialization of innovation results.
The President also signed a resolution "On additional measures to create conditions for the development of active entrepreneurship and innovation". The head of Uzbekistan ordered to introduce the post of pro-rector on scientific work and innovations in universities instead of the post of pro-rector for scientific work.
Deputy directors for science of scientific research institutions of the Academy of Sciences will simultaneously be pro-rectors for scientific work and innovations of profile universities.
In the Ministry of Innovative Development, the Office for Development of Science and Scientific and Technical Research is being organized.
In the structure of higher educational institutions, innovative funds and divisions for the commercialization of scientific and innovative developments will be created.
The President instructed the state bodies to draw up "road maps" of innovative development of relevant industries and spheres every year until 1 October.
The Ministry of Finance will allocate 50 billion soums to the Fund for Support of Innovative Development and Innovative Ideas in 2018, which will be used to finance priority innovative, research, development and start-up projects.
The head of Uzbekistan also instructed to annually hold the Week of Innovative Ideas InnoWeek.Uz.
