Centre of National Arts hosts exhibition “Lines and Plastic Art”
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent’s Centre of National Arts is hosting an exhibition “Lines and Plastic Art”, organized by the Fund Forum and IJOD Association of Artists, Art Historians and Craftsmen.

The exhibition reveals new aspects in drawing aesthetics and shapes in the creations of contemporary artists in Uzbekistan. On display are graphics arts, sculptures and ceramics as well as installations and performance by members of IJOD. The exhibition will last until October 8, 2010.

The artists whose works are on display at the exhibition have attempted to provide a new and original interpretation of the theme of lines and plastic art in a variety of genres and techniques.

The bulk of the exhibits, consisting of graphic works and sculptures, are based on fairy tale motifs, historical scenes as well as historical motifs. Among them are “Khorezm” graphic series by Tatiana Lee, “Song to Sogdiana” by Nilufar Hidoyatova, “Stone composition” by Maria Lee-Safi, “Gaia” and “Seamstress” by Nadezhda Shabanova.

“The Melody” and “The awakening of nature”, sculptures by Tulagan Tajihojayev, “Grace” by Gulzor Sultanova as well as ceramic “Oriental motif” by Rimma Gazaliyeva reflect the artists’ endeavors to further explore the realm of shapes. The famous sculptor Damir Ruzybayev presented his “Line and Plastic Art”, which combines graphics and sculpting.

One of the exhibition sections contains images of architectural monuments in Bukhara and Samarkand. These include “The running of Time. Shakhi Zinda” by Victoria Troshina, “Chor minor”, “The Dome of Bukhara”, “Bukhara Ark” by Nafisa Gilmanova as well as graphic works by Tatiana Chechina.

Of special note are graphical works by Muhammad Fozilov that demonstrate his vision of lines and plastics. The exhibition also presents new art forms such as installations and performance which can be exemplified by “Legend of Saikhun River” and “Cosmic motif” by Bayat Mukhtarov, and a performance by Yekaterina Lyapina.
