Central Bank to issue new banknotes and coins in 2018

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Central Bank of Uzbekistan will continue to work on optimizing the structure of banknotes in circulation in 2018.

According to the regulator, in order to increase the convenience of using the national currency, the issue of issuing a banknote with a larger denomination is being considered.

Also, the Central Bank plans to gradually replace small bills with coins of a new sample with denominations of 50, 100, 500 soums, and also issue coins with a nominal value of 200 soums.
