Central Bank registers two new credit unions
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Central Bank of Uzbekistan issued licenses to two credit unions, the regulator said on 5 January 2011.

According to the Central Bank, the licenses were issued in line with article 17 of the Law “On Central Bank of Uzbekistan” and article 4 of the Law “On credit unions”.

Central Bank registered credit unions Toshkent Farovon-Kredit (Keles city, Tashkent region) with the charter capital of over 104 million soums.

The regulator also issued license to credit union UNI Capital Invest (Ferghana city) with the authorized capital of 107 million soums.

The activity of credit unions will be directed at financing business projects of members – small and individuals businesses and rendering leasing services to them.

According to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, number of acting credit unions in Uzbekistan reached 166.
