Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Central Bank of Uzbekistan in November 2023 retained its status as the largest seller of gold in the world, according to data from the World Gold Council.
The World Gold Council notes that the Central Bank of Uzbekistan sold 11 tons of gold in November. Uzbekistan ranks first in terms of precious metal sales.
Kazakhstan ranks second in terms of gold sales with an indicator of 3 tons.
The largest buyer of gold was the Central Bank of Turkey (25 tons). The top three also included Poland (19 tons) and China (12 tons).
According to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, as of 1 December 2023, Uzbekistan’s gold and foreign exchange reserves amounted to US$32.8 billion.
