Central Bank of Uzbekistan publishes images of new banknotes of 2000 and 20,000 soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Central Bank of Uzbekistan announced a decision to issue new banknotes in the form of banknotes in denominations of 2,000 soums and 20,000 soums from 14 June 2021.

The theme of these banknotes is dedicated to the "Great Silk Road" and the history of the ancient city of Bukhara and the Republic of Karakalpakstan located on the territory of our state.

The banknotes are printed on security paper.

Banknote 2000 soums:

Size 142 x 69 mm.

On a light background, on the right side of the banknote, there is a local watermark in the form of a camel - a symbol of the Great Silk Road caravan routes and a face value of 2000.

On the right side of the banknote, in the thickness of the paper, there is a metallized, machine-readable security thread with the text “UZB”, 1.5 mm wide.

The predominant colors of the front and back sides are magenta and light green.

On the obverse, on the left side of the banknote, there is an architectural monument of the ancient fortress BUKHORO ARKI, erected in the 1st century BC and rebuilt in the 9th-10th centuries AD (the present appearance was formed in the 16th century AD).

In the upper left corner is the number “2000”, printed with OVI variable ink. Depending on the viewing angle, the denomination color changes from golden to green.

In the upper right part of the banknote there is the text "O ‘ZBEKISTON RESPUBLIKASI MARKAZIY BANKI", in the upper right corner of the banknote the Coat of arms of the Republic of Uzbekistan is depicted in purple.

A special element, made in purple, located on the right and left edges, is intended for people with low vision and, due to the relief of the image, makes it possible to determine the value of the denomination by touch.

In the lower part of the banknote, against the background of the ornamental pattern, there is a "latent" (hidden) image in the form of the abbreviation "UZ", visible at a certain angle of inclination with respect to the light source.

In the lower part of the left side there is an inscription "IKKI MING SO’M", reflecting the denomination value and the text "O’ZBEKISTON SO’MI RESPUBLIKA HUDIDA HAMMA TO’LOVLAR UCHUN O’Z QIYMATI BO’YICHA QABUL QILINISHI SHART".

The above-described images are made using intaglio printing, giving the feeling of embossed ink to the touch.

On the right side of the banknote, against a light background, circles of different diameters are imprinted in thin lines, which, when copied, give a color and image distortion.

Against the background of the national fabric "khan-atlas" on the map of Uzbekistan, green lines depict the directions of the caravan roads of the "Great Silk Road".

In the upper left part there is a two-humped camel, which is a symbol of the city of Bukhara, the image of which, performing the function of a register, serves to combine the “face” with the “turnover”. When viewed through the light, the light part of the banknote is combined with the colored background on the reverse side, forming a full-fledged image.

The banknote number consists of a two-letter series of the Latin alphabet and a seven-digit number. On the right side, the number is printed horizontally, on the left side - vertically.

The reverse side of the banknote depicts "POYKEND ARXEOLOGIYA YODGORLIGI" - the ruins of the ancient city of Poikend, through which a caravan route passed in the III-IV centuries BC.

On the right side, there are wall stucco moldings dating back to the VIII century BC and household utensils belonging to the III millennium BC, found in the archaeological excavations "Varakhsha" of the Bukhara region.
