Central Bank of Uzbekistan abolishes license to conduct hard currency transactions
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Central Bank of Uzbekistan abolished license, issued to commercial banks to conduct hard currency operations.

The decision was adopted in order to implement the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan from 10 August 2017 “On Measures for State Support of the Jewelry Industry” and the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan from 2 September “On Priority Measures for the Liberalization of Monetary Policy”, in accordance with Article 17 of the Law “On the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

In accordance with the Decree No. UP-5177 "On Priority Measures for the Liberalization of Monetary Policy", the issuance of licenses for commercial banks to conduct operations in foreign currency has been canceled and now the operations of commercial banks with foreign currency are carried out on the basis of a license on conducting banking activities.
