Central Bank launches commemorative gold and silver coins

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- With a view to expanding the population’s opportunities for investment and savings, as well as the development of the precious metals market, taking into account international experience and practice, the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan launches commemorative gold and silver coins into circulation as a pilot project.

Two gold and 14 kinds of silver coins made of 999.9 metal and weighing 31.1 grams, issued in 1994-2009, are presented for sale. The total number of coins put up for sale is 1900 gold and 6900 silver.

Commemorative coins are issued in circulation with a certificate of authenticity, confirming their technical characteristics. Coins are made by quality "PROOF".

The cost of commemorative coins is established by the Central Bank in national currency at least once a week.

Starting from 28 November 2018, commemorative coins of the Central Bank may be purchased in separate branches of commercial banks by means of payment in cash and cashless form.
