Central bank imposes fines on 7 banks in october

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  In October 2024, the Banking Supervision Committee of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan reviewed 32 matters and made relevant decisions.

Of these, 16 were related to registration and licensing issues, including changes to the statutes of credit organizations (4 issues), re-registration of microfinance organization licenses (1 issue), adding microfinance organizations to the registry (3 issues), and nominations for board members and key executives of commercial banks (8 issues).

The other 16 issues concerned the financial condition of credit institutions, their compliance with the Central Bank’s instructions and prudential standards, as well as the results of inspections and audits conducted in commercial banks and microfinance organizations.

As a result of the inspections, the Central Bank imposed fines on 7 banks and 2 microfinance organizations for violations of established rules.

Additionally, warnings were issued regarding potential sanctions for 2 payment organizations and 2 payment system operators that failed to meet minimum charter capital requirements and organizational structure norms, and for 4 commercial banks that violated security and data protection standards in their automated banking systems.
