Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the staff visit of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a meeting was held between the leadership of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan and an IMF delegation led by country mission chief Ron van Ruden.

During the meeting, the leadership of the Central Bank briefed the IMF representatives on the current macroeconomic situation in the country, indicators of the banking sector, foreign exchange and monetary policy pursued by the regulator.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues, including inflation and factors affecting its dynamics, the situation on world markets, as well as the impact of the geopolitical situation in the world on the economy of Uzbekistan.

There was also an exchange of views on macroeconomic forecasts for 2022-2023. taking into account possible challenges and risks.
