Central Bank and World Bank hold a seminar on external analysis of banks

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 10 March, the Corporate Center for the Retraining of Banking Specialists at the Central Bank jointly with the World Bank organized a seminar on conducting an external analysis of banks for specialists of the supervisory unit.

The aim of the seminar is to improve the qualifications of Central Bank specialists in the context of a transition to risk-based supervision, studying and putting into practice the experience of advanced countries.

During the event, the World Bank financial sector expert D. Babasyan shared information on existing approaches and international best practices for conducting external analysis of banks. The seminar was held in a dialogue format, the goals and the process of external analysis of banks were discussed.

The World Bank expert cited examples from the practice of European regulators, neighboring countries (Russia, Georgia, Armenia) on assessing the risks associated with credit activities, liquidity and profitability of banks.

Special attention was paid to approaches to the analysis of sources (factors) of the origin of specific and potential banking risks, measures to mitigate them, as well as the establishment of acceptable limit values for individual quantitative and qualitative indicators.
