Central Asian Industrial Week starts in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Central Asian Industrial Week started on 3 November in Uzexpocentre, Tashkent. Three-day event present three specialised exhibitions: MiningWorld Uzbekistan 2009, the International Exhibition for the Mining & Processing of Metals & Minerals, ChemPlastAsia 2009, the International Chemistry, Plastics & Rubber Exhibition and Machinery Central Asia 2009, the Central Asian International Machinery, Engineering & Automation Exhibition.

The project is organised by the international exhibition company ITE Uzbekistan, a member of UFI (The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry), and I.T.E. Exhibitions & Conferences Ltd. Central Asian Industrial Week, an international specialised forum, provides opportunities for dialogue between manufacturers and consumers, and between different areas of the real sector of Uzbekistan’s economy and international partners.

The event joins the interests of three interdependent sectors of industry: mining, metals and chemicals.

Central Asian Industrial Week has become a major platform for meetings and a key industrial exhibition, with the participation of leading domestic and international companies. The show is attended by over 80 companies from 19 countries. The countries represented include: Australia, Canada, the UK, Germany, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Netherlands, Russia, the USA, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Finland, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Estonia and Japan.

A central place at the exhibition was given to the only specialised mining exhibition in Uzbekistan, MiningWorld Uzbekistan 2009. This year, the exhibition promises to be a major event, which will demonstrate the industrial potential of Uzbekistan as a key component of the country’s economic development.

In Uzbekistan today there are more than 100 industry sectors connected with machine building, and the country is an exporter of machines and equipment for the mechanization of cotton production. In terms of the production of cotton harvesters, Uzbekistan is second in the world after the United States.

As a result of measures implemented to structurally transform and diversify the economy of Uzbekistan in the first half of 2009, the highest rates of industrial output growth were recorded in the machine-building and metalworking sectors, which amounted to 117.4%. In recent years, with the development of the machine-building industry, links have strengthened between different industry sectors, and the development of infrastructure and the availability of skilled professionals are creating favourable conditions for the intensive development of industries related to machine-building.

Machinery Central Asia 2009, the Central Asian International Machinery, Engineering & Automation Exhibition, is an important industry forum that joins the interests of manufacturers and suppliers of machines for the metallurgical industry, industrial equipment, components and spare parts. This year, MCA 2009 is a compact exhibition, demonstrating the latest products from the machine-building and metallurgical industries.

UzMetKombinat produces more than 95% of all steel and 100% of rolled ferrous metals in Uzbekistan. Navoi Machinery Plant is also taking part in MCA 2009 for the first time. The information level plays a major role in the constantly growing globalisation of markets. ChemPlastAsia 2009, the International Chemistry, Plastics & Rubber Exhibition, which takes place within Central Asian Industrial Week, presents a complete picture of the chemical industry, including overlapping and related areas.

Uzbekistan’s chemical industry is based on a set of enterprises which make up Uzkimyosanoat. In the first half of 2009, Uzkimyosanoat enterprises manufactured 473.5 billion soums of industrial products, including 572,900 tons of mineral fertilisers (490,700 tons of nitrogen and 82,200 tons of phosphorus). One of the most important challenges facing the industry is the production of localised products, as well as the implementation of measures to reduce production costs.

In accordance with this programme, ChemPlastAsia helps to promote advanced technologies, high-efficiency equipment and new generation materials to the domestic market, thereby contributing to the modernisation of Uzbekistan’s chemical industry. The exhibition is being held for the third time and is gaining momentum.

Most of the exhibitors are companies specialising in production of plastics processing equipment, plastic products, extruders and extrusion lines.

The organisers expect that Central Asian Industrial Week will strengthen business cooperation, contribute to the rapid development of industry in Uzbekistan, and bring positive results for the exhibitors, visitors and guests, as well as the economy of the entire Central Asian region.
