Central Asian Conference on Climate Change starts in Almaty
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 January 2018, the Central Asian Conference on Climate Change began in Almaty (the Republic of Kazakhstan).

The Conference is organized by the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia (CAREC). The conference is held within the framework of te implementation of the project "Program for Adaptation to Climate Change and Mitigation in the Aral Sea Basin" (CAMP4ASB) with the participation of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS) with the support of the World Bank.

The theme of the conference is "Towards a sustainable regional adaptation", the main goal of which is to support regional dialogue, dissemination of knowledge and information on adaptation to climate change and identify opportunities for further joint action between all stakeholders and initiatives of international development agencies.

The Central Asian Conference on Climate Change will last two days and will consist of 5 plenary sessions: Climate Policy and National Actions, Climate Science and Research, Best Climate-Resilient Practices and Technologies, Finance for Climate Change Adaptation and Climate Information Services .
