CEC of Uzbekistan approves results of snap presidential elections

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At a meeting of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the results of the snap elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held on 9 July 2023, were considered. This was reported by the press service of the Central Election Commission.

It was noted that in the elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on the basis of free expression of will, more than 15.6 million citizens included in the voter lists, or almost 80 percent, voted for the candidate they considered worthy.

At the meeting, a protocol was drawn up on the results of the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held on 9 July, 2023, and a resolution was adopted to approve the election results.

In particular, a resolution was adopted on the election of Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev to the post of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan by 87.05 percent of the votes of voters who took part in the elections.

Also, the protocol reflects that 4.43% of voters voted for the candidate from the Social Democratic Party of Uzbekistan "Adolat" Robakhon Anvarovna Makhmudova, 4.02% for the candidate from the People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan Ulugbek Ilyasovich Inoyatov and 3.74% for Abdushukur Khudoykulovich Khamzaev, candidate from the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan.

In addition, the issue of appeals received by the Central Election Commission during the preparation and holding of snap elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was considered, and an appropriate decision was made.
