The contest was aimed at stimulating and boosting activity of the commercial banks on attracting free money resources of populations to the deposits at the banks, strengthening resource base of the banks for further boosting their investment activity, etc.

Central Bank said for last two years, the deposits of population at the banks rose by 1.7 times. It added that over 4,700 regional divisions of the banks offer 400 types of deposits in national and foreign currencies.

Uzbekistan guarantees of repayment of population deposits in full volume, independently from the size of the deposits. Deposits are also exempted from any taxes and population can deposit their resources without any limits.
