Carlsberg Uzbekistan to assist Japan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Carlsberg Uzbekistan will carry out charity campaign from July to December 2011 to support and assist to rehabilitation of Japan, which seriously suffered from earthquake and tsunami in March 2011.

Carlsberg Uzbekistan expressed condolences in connection with tragic events in Japan and to assist the country to recover, it launched to use economic corks in production of Baltika No. 7 Export and Tuborg Green.

Evgeniy Shevchenko, director-general of Carlsberg Uzbekistan, said: “We launch economic corks and offer product on standard price. The price difference from each cork of produced Baltika No. 7 Export and Tuborg Green will be directed to Japan aid fund on behalf of all consumers of Uzbekistan and employees of the company.”

He said: “One of five “Principles of Winners” of Carlsberg Uzbekistan says “We care about society”. We are proud that our employees always adhere this principle in our common intend to make world better and that’s why we joined programme “Support Japan!”, which is participated by 100 countries and over 30 international organizations.”

Carlsberg Uzbekistan head underlined that the company plans to raise at least 50 million soums from the campaign, however added that the sum will depend on the volume of sales of these two beer brands.

Powerful earthquake and tsunami hit Japan in March 2011. In the result, over 27,000 people died. Over 150,000 people are still without homes and are living in temporary camps. The loss of Japan is valued at US$309 billion, which is several times more than Katrina hurricane in the USA.
