Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan Exporters Association in cooperation with the Indian Importers Chambers of Commerce and Industry, has organized an online exhibition on formation of bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and Indian business.
The event was attended by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Delhi Dilshod Akhatov, Chairman of Uzbekistan Exporters Association Mukhtor Umarov, President of the Indian Importers Chambers of Commerce and Industry Atul Kumar Saxena, as well as about 600 entrepreneurs working in the textile, agricultural, food and other industries of Uzbekistan, India, Bangladesh and Vietnam.
Opening the online exhibition, the Chairman of Uzbekistan Exporters Association Mukhtor Umarov told the participants of the webinar in detail about the activities of the Association of Exporters of Uzbekistan, about the business support center created by the association through the online platform uzbekmart.com, where market participants in the B2B format can directly exchange information with each other and conclude contracts.
“During the next 4 days, the Association will provide an online meeting between Uzbek exporters and Indian importers to establish and develop a dialogue between entrepreneurs, to present products online to importers from India, Bangladesh and Vietnam. Business representatives of the two countries through the online exhibition will be able to get complete information about the products, including concluding profitable contracts,” added Mukhtor Umarov.
In turn, welcoming the participants of the online exhibition, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to India Dilshod Akhatov, noted that thanks to the joint efforts of the business circles of India and Uzbekistan, it was possible to significantly increase the volume of bilateral trade, which by the end of 2019 increased by 24% and reached US$355.4 million.
“To expand the volume of mutual trade, Uzbek companies have sufficient potential to increase direct supplies to the Indian market of a wide range of goods, including chemicals and fertilizers, cotton yarn and fabrics, raw silk, copper and other unprocessed products, ferrous metals, electrical and cable and wire products. , leather goods, vegetables and fruits, etc., ”the Ambassador emphasized.
Atul Kumar Saxenna, President of the Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, expressing gratitude to the Association of Exporters of Uzbekistan and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in India for the initiative to organize an online exhibition, stressed that Uzbekistan is a reliable partner of India.
“I am very glad that today the opening of the first online exhibition on trade between Uzbek and Indian businesses took place,” said Atul Kumar Saxenna. - This event will undoubtedly give a great impetus to the increase in bilateral trade between our countries. As you know, the Indian market is interested in the supply of fruits and vegetables and chemical products from Uzbekistan.
