Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Representatives of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Guangzhou (PRC) met with the Deputy Mayor of Dongguan Xin Wenzhou, heads of the local Investment Bureau, Trade Bureau, Foreign Trade Promotion Committee and the management of the company “Guangdong Wonderful Ceramics Ltd”, Dunyo reported.

A forum of economic cooperation “Uzbekistan-China (Dongguan)” was also organized with the participation of enterprises of the electrical, textile, leather industries of the city of Dongguan, the administration of the Syrdarya region and the Uzeltechanoat association.

“Dongguan enterprises mainly had trade and economic ties with the countries of America and Europe, but today many of our enterprises are establishing cooperation with enterprises from countries participating in the One Belt, One Road project.” Business representatives of our city are interested in expanding cooperation with enterprises of Uzbekistan,” noted the mayor of the city.

Representatives of the khokimiyat of Syrdarya region presented information on the favorable business environment created for foreign investors in the region. Dongguan companies are invited to develop their production in the region.

The forum participants agreed to discuss the prospects for cooperation in the textile, leather industry and electrical engineering during the visit of Dongguan companies to our country in May.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on establishing bilateral cooperation in the field of wind energy, industrial investments, implementing joint investment projects in traditional industries of Uzbekistan, organizing mutual visits to exchange experience between economic zones and industrial parks located in the two countries, as well as attracting grants and financial and technical support and others.
