Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan have been urged to use electricity rationally and turn off electrical appliances when they are not necessary.
According to the press service of the Uzenergoinspektsiya, as part of preventive raids conducted across the country, the inspection reminded businesses about the importance of efficient electricity usage, especially during the winter period when the load on the energy system increases.
Inspection officers emphasized that businesses should monitor their energy consumption, including turning off Christmas decorations and lighting on signs and windows, to avoid overloading the power grid and ensure a stable electricity supply for all consumers.
In August 2024, a law on energy conservation came into force, prohibiting the use of electric lighting beyond the established norms, as well as unnecessary lighting of areas during daylight hours.
Violations of these rules are subject to a fine equal to 50% of the cost of electricity consumed for such purposes.
