Business circles of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan sign over 20 documents

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 17 July 2024, the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Business Forum took place in Tashkent. The forum was held in anticipation of the President of Kyrgyzstan’s visit to Uzbekistan.

Opening the event, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Khojaev, noted the consistent growth of multi-dimensional Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations, made possible by the trustful dialogue between the heads of the two states.

In order to ensure further development of trade, the importance of measures to increase mutual supplies of finished textiles, foodstuffs, plastics, footwear, IT services, fertilizers, building materials, household appliances, pharmaceuticals, large and small livestock, coal, and other demanded goods was emphasized.

Special attention was given to deepening interregional cooperation, which serves as a driver for the development of small and medium-sized businesses. In particular, discussions focused on establishing joint ventures in border regions for the production of household appliances, pharmaceuticals, furniture, building materials, footwear, and leather goods.

It was proposed to establish a practice of mutual visits of delegations from regions with the organization of forums, exhibitions, round tables, B2B meetings, as well as cultural and humanitarian events.

As a result of the forum, 20 agreements, memoranda, and trade contracts were signed in the areas of food production, construction materials manufacturing, establishment of a logistics center, waste processing, geological exploration, coal supply, provision of IT services, and supply of electrical and agricultural products.
