Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A bus accident in the Jambay district of Samarkand region resulted in injuries to 23 women, one of whom later died, Millar TV reports, citing the district hospital’s chief physician, Tozagul Kholikova.

The accident occurred on 11 February. According to the Traffic Safety Department, a 68-year-old man was killed at the scene, but it remains unclear whether he was on the bus or in another vehicle involved in the collision.

The chief physician stated that 23 women were taken to the hospital, many with serious injuries. Sixteen passengers were admitted to the surgical department, while two were placed in intensive care in critical condition.

The Samarkand Regional Transport Department confirmed the accident and the death of one person but did not disclose further details.
