After their goalless draw with Iran’s Piroozi (Persepolis) in the AFC Champions League last week, Bunyodkor blanked Shurtan 2-0 in domestic action on Saturday to go second in the ladder behind Nasaf on goal difference.
On target for the defending league champions, who were held to their first draw last week, were two first-half scorers: Ibragimov (16) and Sakhob Juraev (43). The win, Bunyodkor’s fourth in the fledgeling league, pulled them up to second place.
Nasaf maintained their early leadership position by flexing their muscles against Neftchi with a 3-0 win. Ilhom Yunusov (14), Erkin Boydullaev (37) and Maksud Karimov (64) scored for the victors.
Other matches saw Bukhara edge Almalyk 1-0, Mash’al fight out a goalless stalemate with Qyzylqum, Andijan hold Navbahor to a 1-1 stalemate, and Dynamo shade Metallurg by a solitary goal.
Pakhtakor were inactive and will clash with Sogdiana on Sunday.
