Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A record 68 thousand cases of coronavirus infection and 1.3 thousand deaths were recorded in Great Britain per day, authorities say.

The number of coronavirus-infected UK residents who have died in the last 24 hours has reached 1,325, a record high for the kingdom since the start of the pandemic.

According to data published on Friday on the website of government information, in 24 hours the country also revealed a record high number of cases of infection - more than 68 thousand.

For three days in a row, more than a thousand infected people have been dying in the UK per day. On Thursday, the death toll reached 1,162, the highest daily increase since 21 April, when the previous anti-record was set - 1,224 deaths per day. The total number of deaths among people infected with COVID-19 exceeded 82.6 thousand. The number of cases of infection detected by the authorities approached 3 million.
