Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Umidbek Safarov and chief consultant of the British company AGT Poortman James Halford held negotiations on the export of grain legume products from Uzbekistan.

The negotiations took place as part of the international food exhibition IFE 2024 in London.

AGT Poortman has been successfully operating in the UK for 30 years, its annual turnover is US$2 billion. It cooperates with 16 countries around the world to import pulse products and has 45 production plants around the world.

According to James Halford, the results of a marketing study conducted by AGT Poortman showed that the quality of mung beans from Uzbekistan is competitive in the British market.

During the meeting, the parties agreed to export 16 tons of mung beans to the UK for trial testing this year.

James Halford also announced his readiness to visit Uzbekistan in May 2024 to conduct breeding work.
