Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 31 July 2025, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Mining Industry and Geology, Bobir Islamov, held a meeting with a delegation led by Presidential Adviser Suma Chakrabarti.

The discussions focused on the ongoing reforms in the sector as well as plans for its further development. Particular attention was given to work within the framework of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI).

The parties reviewed the prospects of the Ministry joining transparency initiatives in the extractive sector and exchanged views on the necessary measures and reforms to be undertaken in this direction.
