The OSCE Centre in Bishkek supported the conference, organized by the Kyrgyz Interior Ministry and the Kyrgyz Police Academy, as part of its police reform programme.
Kyrgyz, Kazakh, Uzbek, Russian and Turkish forensic experts as well as representatives of the Kyrgyz Government, Parliament and law schools took part in the conference.
"The development of professional forensic divisions is an important element of the police reform in Kyrgyzstan," said Lilian Darii, the Deputy Head of the OSCE Centre in Bishkek.
Abdykapar Mavlyanov, the Head of the Kyrgyz Police Academy, added: "It is important for law enforcement agencies and the academic community to interact and co-operate to remain updated on the latest developments in forensic science."
The event coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Kyrgyz Police Academy.
